Bloom's Taxonomy for the 21st Century

Here's a visual representation of Bloom's Taxonomic Hierarchy with a 21st Century skills frame. This could be a starting discussion point for teachers looking to use web 2.0 resources to address the needs of Bloom's Taxonomy: remembering, understanding, applying, analyzing, evaluating, and creating. For example, Delicious, is categorized in remembering; Wikipedia is in evaluating. The graphic was created by Mike Fisher, an instructional coach and education consultant, who hosts an interesting wiki called Visual Blooms.
If you're not familiar with delicious, you should consider using this excellent social bookmarking site. It's a great way for teachers to bookmark and organize educational websites. I'm happy to share my delicious account, show how to follow my favorites, and give some quick instruction to any HES staff. You can also learn how to use Delicious with Russell Stannard's excellent teacher training video.

  1. This would be a great poster to have in every classroom. Is there an easy way to obtain, copy and distribute?
